The festive season is a chance for me to see what businesses within New Zealand are actually supporting New Zealand business.
One way I do this is to check out what email service provider a business has used to send their email christmas wishes.
To date a number of businesses funded by New Zealand government with a mission to support New Zealand businesses use an off shore email service provider not a New Zealand one. Of course there are loads of other New Zealand businesses that go straight to the overseas email providers without even looking at the local market. Some might be surprised that we offer the same service and better at a lower cost.
The two largest email service providers in New Zealand – MobilizeMail.com and SmartMailPro.com can support the bulk emailing needs of even the most largest New Zealand companies – so it saddens me to see these New Zealand businesses not supporting ‘Kiwi Made’.
If you are a New Zealand business using an overseas company to provide a service why not in 2012 take a look at the local market and see if there is a business here that can support you? If we all do this then there would be less business startup failures – makes sense aye?
