Are You Too Busy or Just Not Organised?


failIn my travels I have encountered business owners who don’t seem to be able to keep a promise.

A promise to return my call, send me that “important” document that you stated needs to be fixed today, pay me on time for work done, attend a scheduled meeting that you booked.

When you make a promise to another person that you will do something by this date/time and you don’t think how that comes across.

Even worse – think what that person thinks about you if you fail to keep your promise more than once.

It really comes down to respect. If you promise to do something and you don’t then the other person can only assume that you don’t respect them enough to “follow through” on the promise.

Will I continue to do business with you if you keep breaking your promises? Of course not.

Will I bother to contact you when I get a great opportunity that is ideal for you? Of course not!

Will I refer you to my business contacts and clients? Guess the answer…

If you promise to do something make sure you do what you promised or if you don’t show some respect and contact the person directly to apologize for breaking the promise.

Its commonsense really …
